Back to Work

Well, being back to work is no fun! I miss my monster every single minute of every single day!!!!!!!!!!!! He's doing really well at Aunt Donna's house though. He's growing like a weed and getting fatter every minute! Just kidding Collin. He's perfect, perfect, perfect.

Grandma & Grandpa Pulkinen came for a visit last weekend and then we had a crazy Easter at Grandma and Grandpa Lojewski's house. Everything went well and we look forward to easter egg hunts next year.

More Pictures of Fun

Play is becoming increasingly popular with Collin. He's so alert and looks around at everything now. He seems to enjoy spending time in his gym and on his tummy time mat. He continues to roll over almost every day so I don't think that it was just a fluke.

Accomplishments!

It's amazing how every day of parenting and babyhood is filled with new accomplishments and achievements. Yesterday Collin was having a little tummy time and he rolled over! Not once but twice. And! Last night we tried our first night in the big crib in our own room. Collin did very well only waking up once in the night. Mommy also did okay. She only woke up 5 or 5 times to check on him. He's growing so fast and changing every day. Absolutely incredible.

My husband....... my hero!

Well this post is an ode to Dan. I don't know if I could ask for a better husband these days. Well maybe I shouldn't go that far, but he has been incredible. Our birthing & postpartum experience has not been the best. I've required a lot of medical care both at the doctors and at home. Dan has really stepped up to the plate and has done things for me that I'm not sure I could do for someone else. He's my at home doctor and nurse and I thank him so much for all that he's done for me.

And now.................

And now! It seems to never end here. Now it seems that I have gotten an infection from my fabulous emergency c-section. Collin and I live at the Doctors office, I swear! So we are going to attempt to pack the wound daily without vomitting and take the antibiotics and see what happens. It doesn't seem too bad so hopefully it will not take all that long to heal. Here's to hoping!

Smiling

It is amazing how much a little baby smiling can make you light up inside! Collin had some real smiles this weekend. (Or at least I'm telling myself that! They sure didn't look like gas.) Anyway, he's growing like a weed and we're now in the countdown to going back to work. I'm so upset about leaving him. I know he'll be fine and Dan's Aunt will take wonderful care of him, but I'm afraid of all of the moments I'm going to miss. I guess it's important to remember to make all of the moments that I do have special! He's the light of my life and I don't know what I did before him.

Doctors Today

Today was Collin's one month appointment with the pediatrician. He is doing excellent. He now weighs in at 9lbs and 13oz. He has gained almost two pounds in one month. Amazing! He did have to get one shot today, but even that went pretty well. Next month is the big bad appointment where he'll need to get several shots. We've already enlisted Daddy's help for that appointment. I don't think I can do it alone! So he's growing right along and everything is good. Now if we could just get spring to hurry up and get here!

Our Story

Where to start! I am the brand new mother of the most beautiful baby on the planet. (It could be that I'm biased here.) Collin William was born on January 29th, 2008 at 7:28 am. He weighed in at 8lbs and measured 21 inches long. He was all about being even. No pounds and ounces, etc. Collin spent his first hours with his wonderful Daddy as he and Mommy had undergone an emergency c-section in order to get him here. Dan (my husband) was absolutely wonderful with him and did a fabulous job of feeding him, changing diapers and making sure that I was okay. After staying in the hospital for four days were finally able to come home. Things were a little rocky at first, but now one month later we are adjusting to our lives together and this is just the beginning of our story!
